Mom and Dad Lewis Visit Hong Kong

It was so great to be able to share
our LIFE in Hong Kong with Fred's parents.
Here are a few of the things we did
during their two week visit.

Ate at our FAVORITE Thai restaurant
in Discovery Bay.

Did some star gazing with the i-pad and i-phone.
 Went shopping in Shenzhen.
Caleb stayed with Grandma and Grandpa in
Shenzhen for the night and caught a plane
early the next morning to Yichang.
They visited the Three Gorges Dam there.
Ammon introduced them to a traditional
Hong Kong bakery in Tung Chung.
We visited the Nan Lian Gardens

 and Chi Lin Nunnery.
 We shopped Stanley Market
and made a brief visit to the beach there.
 We rode the gondola

 to Big Buddha.

 We were pleasantly surprised to
find a stage set up in front of the monastery.
We enjoyed a complementary traditional
Chinese show STARING -
 A man with changing masks,

an acrobat with lots of hula hoops,
an acrobat who balanced things on her nose,
 and traditional Chinese boxers.
We took a boat ride to see the stilt houses in Tai O
and the pink dolphins swam very close to our boat.
After our boat ride we enjoyed egg waffles
and a Tai O donut.
We had a GREAT time!

EASTER 2012

EASTER came late this year.  Since we would be in
New Zealand during the holiday
we put it on our calendars for Monday, April 16.

It was GREAT to purchase easter candy
at a DRASTICALLY reduced price.

We had to improvise on a few things.
Plastic bags instead of plastic eggs
 and bowls instead of baskets.

Australia - Perth

--Day FOUR in Australia--
In the beautiful city of Perth
One of the things we looked forward to most,
while visiting Australia, was SHOPPING at TARGET!
It's AMAZING what you miss when you live in Asia -
the land of NO department stores.
As we walked up to the store entrance a
street performer began playing "Bella Notte" on
his accordion.  It was DIVINE!
