FHE for Sisters

The Filipina Sisters in the Branch
invited our family for Family Home Evening
for sisters at the church flat.

The Elders gave a great spiritual thought and lesson.
The sisters shared what they appreciated most
about being a member of the church.
 They fixed a BEAUTIFUL 'buffet'.
Nemia - at the far left - is the only sister we did not
get an individual picture with.  All of these sisters,
with the exception of Cathy, are working as
Helpers here in Hong Kong.  They AMAZE me!
We learned that Filipinas point to things
using their lips.  We laughed so hard
as Caleb demonstrated how to do it.
 LOVE these ladies!!

We learned SO MUCH from these amazing ladies.

Junk Boat Trip 2012

Our friend Kale, Ammon, Caleb and Haleigh
heading out to catch the junk boat we rented
for the day.

 Our junk
 Loading the boat
ALL of the kids, including the 3 grown
ones on the dock, were excited for the
journey to get under way.
 My 3 sailors
We put in anchor at Lama Island
to enjoy the water.  Here the kids
are getting ready to jump off the
top of the junk.  They were waiting
for an adult to go first.
I snapped this picture and ran and jumped in!
Let the FUN begin!!

We thought it very strange that we were the only private
boat out on the water on a Holiday.
When we returned to Discovery Bay we learned
of the "NO SWIM" warning for Lama Island
because of SHARK INFESTED WATERS!!
The day prior to our excursion, a group
out on their junk encountered a 12 foot shark.
THANK GOODNESS it was a
Whale Shark which has no teeth
and only eats algae -- AND
THANK GOODNESS we did NOT see it!
The poor thing would have died from a heart attack
from all the SCREAMING.
FUN day that turned in to a CRAZY story!!
