We decorated with her favorite colors.

the most while living in Hong Kong.

GEORGIA - She's DRIVING me ... HOME!!

Tuesday, August 2, 2011
was a MONUMENTAL day
for this Lewis Family.

After a LONG AWAITED
reading of 20 books
(because Haleigh does not like reading
Fred and I set the standard for her.
"You HAVE to read 20 classics
before you can get your permit.")
she was READY.

Waiting at the GA DDS
for her number to be called.

This review
of street signs paid off.
She got 100% on that portion of the test!
She scored 90 on the remainder of the questions.

She's a legal driver now

and SHE'S DRIVING ME HOME!!!

IDAHO - LEWIS FAMILY REUNION - Henry's Lake

Let the festivities begin!
Thursday night: Uncle Bob introduced
Grandpa Bert and
Grandma Melba Lewis
in poem form.

Following that

Songs and S'mores around the campfire.

Our accommodations were
at Wild Rose Ranch
a short walk down the road
from Aunt Jane's cabin.

Aunt Jane's Cabin
Most of the activities took place in her yard.

Friday morning brought
activities on Henry's Lake
on Aunt Jane's property.

In the afternoon we worked on
Humanitarian projects.
Homemade dolls and balls,
coloring matching games
and sewing plastic canvas cubes
to be used as baby rattles.

Friday evening we went to the Yellowstone Chapel.

We did square dancing,
ate dinner

and learned more about the lives
of Bert and Melba.

It is Lewis tradition that when you are
in Yellowstone you attend a musical
at Playmill theatre.

This year we saw "High School Musical"

It was an extra special treat when
the cast, not only allowed the kids to dance
on stage for their "Dance to Save the World"
homemade movie, but joined in the dancing!

Saturday Morning:

A trip to another location on Big Springs

to float the Snake River.

Some places in the river were too shallow to float.

Some places were deep enough to dive.

We were able to see a few Moose
on the river banks.
We saw a bull and further
down the river
a Mom with her calf.

The kids danced in front of Grandma Melba
and Grandpa Bert's old cabin.

Saturday Evening was family skit time
and then we visited late into the night.

What a GREAT time we had!
Thank HEAVEN for family.

IDAHO - Off Road!

We rented two four wheelers and a
rhino so Fred could take us off roading
on the trails he rode as a kid.
We had a BLAST!!

Look at that crystal clear water
and the SIZE of those fish -
a good 24" long!

Happy Birthday Honey!
Thank you for sharing your fond
childhood memories with us.
