Australia - The Blue Mountains and Featherdale Wildlife Park

--Day TWO in Australia--
A BUS tour to the Blue Mountains
and Featherdale Wildlife Park
Our tour bus.
The Blue Mountains - named for the blue mist
that hovers over the mountains.
It is created when the oil from the eucalyptus
trees is released into the air.

The Three Sisters rock formation

Just outside the restraunt where we ate lunch
we found an old FROGGER video game.
Fred had a good timing schoolin' the kids
on some FUN from the '80s
We hiked to some small falls by the
Three Sisters rock formation.
The BEAUTIFUL bark of the eucalyptus tree

The Wildlife Park

Wombat

Koala

 YES - he's real and
YES - we got to pet him!!

We fed the kangaroo's ice cream cones
with hay inside them.  They ate
both the hay and the entire cone.

My favorite - Momma and baby

 He would NOT stay still.
For the 20 minutes we were in the area
he was running laps.
 An albino kangaroo and
 an albino peacock.

Australia - Sydney

--Day ONE in Australia--
Exploring downtown Sydney
The view from our hotel room at the Marriott.

We found
Krispy Kreme doughnuts!!
These birds were all over the city -
much like pigeons are all over the city of New York.

The Playground

Darling Harbor

We found out the water in this harbor
was 20 feet deep and sharks swim here.
Had I known that we would have been
MUCH more careful.

The Sydney Harbor Bridge and Opera House

Playing in the park

Our Walk Downtown

Hundreds of teenage girls wait for the singing group
