One of the things on our list of
"Things we want to see in Japan"
was Tokyo's Times Square.
We found the place marked Times Square
on the map and asked for directions.
We were directed here - to Shinjuku.
Shinjuku was a busy place
with lots of tall buildings, traffic,
and a large shopping center that said
"Times Square",
but it just didn't look like the
Tokyo Times Square we had seen in pictures.
We walked and searched
and asked for directions several more times,
but still couldn't find what we were looking for.
Those giving directions always pointed us
back to where we began.
Across the street from Shinjuku station.
It wasn't the language barrier
that was preventing us from finding
OUR Times Square,
both Fred and I speak Japanese
since we served our missions in Japan.
The picture in our head was
just not matching up with what we were seeing.
So we took a break from our search
and enjoyed some REAL Ramen.

It wasn't until we got home and I did further
research that I discovered,
Times Square IS a shopping mall
in Shinjuku.
What we REALLY wanted to see (THIS)
is Shibuya - it only LOOKS
like Times Square it's not CALLED
Times Square.
NOW we know.
