JAPAN, Tokyo - Asakusa

The view of the new Tokyo Tower
just before you get to Asakusa.

Asakusa is at the center of Tokyo city.

This BEAUTIFUL wood carving is
on the underside of the giant lantern.

Asakusa's nakamise

or shopping street.

Asakusa Shrine was built in 1649
and survived the Tokyo air raids of World War II.

This guy, pulling the rickshaw, asked
me to take a picture of them
and just before I snapped the shot
he struck this pose.
