Our first excursion was
to Phuket's Big Buddha
Construction for this site
began in Feb. of 2010
and the work is still in progress.
It is a place...
for making offerings,
for reflection,
for traditions
and for worship.
As we walked the grounds
I saw several women with
matching skirts.
Come to find out -
at the entrance,
if your shorts are too short
or have a sleeveless shirt on,
they provide a
skirt and/or shawl to wear
in order to maintain modesty.
The skirts and shawls are turned
back in after the visit.
The Buddah is located at the highest
point in Phuket.
The views were AMAZING!
