As Ammon's final day of school
and as a reward for a job
WELL DONE
for Haleigh and Caleb's
school completion -
we spent the day at
Hong Kong's amusement park ...
OCEAN PARK
Rightfully named.
What sets this park apart from
all other amusement parks is
it's built on the top of
a mountain (which adds height to all rides)
- on an island -
in the middle of the OCEAN!
So all of the rides provide
an AMAZING view.
The Park has two parts
and to get from one side to the other
you take a gondola.
BEAUTIFUL!!
BACK TO THE PARK
Our first ride.
THE FLASH
I believe - from my own personal experience -
it's name comes from the saying
"My life FLASHed before my eyes".
The rides arm swings forward and back
- slowly - until you eventually
go upside down.
The round wheel part slowly turns
each time the arm reaches
it's highest point of the swing.
When you reach the complete upside down point
it holds you there for a good 2-3 seconds
before it brings you swinging back down.
The CRAZINESS -
hanging upside down over
cliffs and ocean below!
One of the things we looked forward to most
during THIS trip to an amusement park
was that Ammon would be tall enough to join
us on the BIG rides.
MINE TRAIN - twice
The Dragon - with THREE loops!
Mom and Haleigh - 1time
Dad and Caleb - 2 times
Ammon - 3 times
THE ABYSS (below)
This was for the BOYS ONLY.
Haleigh and I opted OUT!
I was pretty sure,
when I took this picture,
that it was Fred, Ammon and Caleb's feet
dangling on the left.
There was NO MISTAKIN' when
the seats dropped and
I heard their screams.
Fred "AHHH! Oh no! Oh no!"
Caleb was screaming "Mommy!"
and reaching for me.
And Ammon's were screams of delight.
They survived - barely.
This time, to get back to the other side of the park,
we took an underground train
disguised as a submarine.
NEXT
We enjoyed some of the animals.
The pandas...
Eating
and taking a break after eating.
(THIS was my favorite pic of the day.
He laid there for a good 10 mins
with his eyes wide open
just like he was posing.)
The RED panda.
and a living fossil
A GIANT salamander
(about 3ft. in length).
Pretty cool!
We moved out into the garden
And left a message.
It was an EXCITING,
WONDERFUL,
and
VERY ENJOYABLE
day!
We hope to be able to return.

What a pretty looking park. I'd go just as much for the views as the rides. Tiff
