Tiananmen Square

On our SECOND day in Beijing
we visited - Tiananmen Square,
The Forbidden City &
The Temple of Heaven.

Tiananmen Square is the largest city square
in the world, built to hold 500,000
people at one time.


The Front Gate was the original enterance
into the city of Beijing and is located at
the south end of the square.


The middle gate was only used by the Emperor
all others used the gates on the 
east or west side.
